Tegan O’Brien is an associate in our Advocacy Group. Tegan has a broad corporate and commercial practice and offers experience in a variety of areas including contract disputes, franchise litigation, competition law, and regulatory matters. Before joining Cassels Brock as an associate Tegan summered and articled with the firm.

Tegan graduated from the J.D. program at the University of Toronto. During her time in law school Tegan was actively involved in the community. She volunteered with Law In Action Within Schools, an organization which helps high school students develop professional skills, and as a caseworker at Advocates for Injured Workers, assisting clients with claims and appeals with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.

Tegan also volunteered as a Division Leader and worked as a summer caseworker at Downtown Legal Services, the University of Toronto’s student legal clinic. As a case worker in the University Affairs Division she represented students accused of academic dishonesty, and assisted students with academic appeals. In this role, she was able to appear as first chair before administrative tribunals, and was responsible for drafting submissions and negotiating settlements.

Prior to law school Tegan graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science (with Distinction) from McMaster University. During this time she worked as a teaching assistant in economics. Her interdisciplinary education exposed her to a variety of academic interests including economics, public policy and chemistry.
