Carla Potter is a partner in our Financial Services Group. Her practice focuses on corporate financing and equipment finance matters, representing both lenders and borrowers involved in domestic and cross-border lending and leasing transactions and corporate reorganizations.

Carla’s experience includes:

  • Acting for Continental Gold Inc. in the completion of a US$250 million project finance facility
  • Acting for Atlantic Gold Corporation in its $115 million project finance facility and $20 million equipment finance facility
  • Acting for Tahoe Resources Inc. in the completion of a US$150 million revolving credit facility
  • Acting for TMAC Resources Inc. in the completion of a US$120 million senior secured term facility
  • Acting for Pioneer Energy in its $377 million sale to Parkland Fuel Corporation
  • Acting for Lundin Mining Corporation in its acquisition of an 80% ownership stake in the Candelaria/Ojos del Salado copper mining operations and supporting infrastructure from Freeport-McMoRan Inc. for approximately US$1.8 billion
  • Acting for the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club in respect of the financing of the NHL Team and the Canadian Tire Centre
  • Acting for Guyana Goldfields Inc. in a US$185 million project finance facility to fund the Aurora Gold Project in Guyana
  • Representing the underwriters in Callidus Capital Corporation’s $252 million initial public offering
  • Acting for Lundin Mining Corporation in its $600 million debt facilities for Eagle Project funding

Carla is also a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant with experience working at national accounting firms in both an assurance and business advisory capacity.

Carla completed her J.D. degree from Queen’s University. She previously obtained an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lakehead University.
