Any Obando is an associate in the Business Law Group. Any specializes in the areas of intellectual property (including copyright and trademark) and entertainment. Any’s practice involves assisting clients with intellectual property disputes and litigation, as well as the protection, enforcement, and licensing of intellectual property rights.
Any graduated from the J.D. program at Osgoode Hall Law School. During law school, she volunteered as a case worker for Fair Change Community Legal Services, a legal clinic that provides advocacy services to homeless and street-involved citizens of Toronto. She also served as a research assistant for Professor Alan Young, where she had an opportunity to co-draft a factum for the Court of Appeal for Ontario. While at Osgoode, she received the Justice Marc Rosenberg 74’ Award for zealous advocacy.
Prior to attending law school, Any obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Specialization) in Criminology from Western University. During her undergraduate studies, Any was the head of the orientation program for the Faculty of Social Sciences, where she was responsible for a team of 90 volunteers and the incoming class of 2014-2015. In the summer prior to law school, Any was a Venue Protocol Coordinator for the 2015 Pan/Parapan Am Games, where she had the opportunity to create and execute protocol operations for the Toronto Pearson International Airport and the Exhibition Place venues. In this position, she improved her client services and communication skills with clients such as heads of state, government dignitaries, and executive committee officials.
Prior to joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Any was both a summer and articling student at the firm.
